A startling statistic-the majority of the population does not read any books after graduating from any school!!!
When I first saw this, I could not believe it. Being an avid reader, I don’t know how I could live without my Kindle, thousands of books available in a little device weighing a few ounces. Viewing this marvelous gizmo, the other day got me to thinking about some interesting statistics in our industry.
When it comes to a thirst for knowledge, there are many different designations one can earn in the real estate field. Most of them come with an alphabet soup abbreviation which I dare say most of the consuming public has no idea of what they represent. However, obscure those letters may be, let’s take a look at the stats and you decide.
Average 2017 RE/MAX Suburban agent gross income $168,000
Average 2015 RE/MAX agent gross income $139,900 (USA and Canada)
Average 2017 National Association of Realtors average income $21,400
CIPS Certified International Property Specialist $183,200
CRP Certified Relocation Professional $181,000
CCIM Certified Commercial Investment Member $161,500
CRS Certified Residential Specialist $118,000
CRB Certified Real Estate Brokerage Manager $149,000
ABR Accredited Buyer Representative $118,000
CDPE Certified Distressed Property Expert $121,000
GRI Graduate Realtor Institute $101,000
E-PRO Internet Professional $81,000
SFR Short Sales & Foreclosure Representative $58,000
The statistical implication is unmistakable, the more you train yourself and become better educated in the real estate business, the higher your income potential is.
Currently there are over 1,200 different training programs on our RE/MAX University (RU) 24/7 (remax.net). You can get different designations online, many times at a reduced cost or you can just choose any one of the free training classes that interest you.
If you have a designation and wish to educate the public, RE/MAX International has designed some great visuals which you can download for presentations as well as hooks for you to use on Facebook and Twitter applications.
I encourage you to carve out time for at least one-hour each week and educate yourself by taking advantage of this terrific member benefit.
Remember, the more you learn, the more you earn!
